Dwight H. Evans

Evans retired as executive vice president of Southern Company. He served as president of the company's external affairs group. As a member of the board of directors of the United States Chamber of Commerce, he chairs the Chamber's environment and energy committee. Evans is a member of the board of the U.S. Institute for Environmental Conflict Resolution. He served on Georgia Board of Economic Development and the Board of Regents of the University System of Georgia. Evans served as president of the Southeastern Electric Exchange and president and chief executive officer of Mississippi Power. He earned both a bachelor's and a master's degree from the Georgia Institute of Technology and a law degree from Atlanta Law School. He and his wife, Sharon, have two grown children and three grandchildren.
