Williams is Chairman
and CEO of Killearn, Inc. Killearn is a developer of
quality golf course communities, including Golden
Eagle and Killearn Estates in Tallahassee, Eagle’s
Landing and Eagle’s Brooke in Henry County;
Waterfall at Lake Burton and Kingwood in Rabun
County. Killearn has developed more than 12,000
acres of multi-use properties, including golf
courses, shopping centers, hotels, industrial,
offices, single family and multi family properties.
His golf courses have hosted 36 PGA and LPGA
tournaments.
Williams is a
Certified Public Accountant, having passed the CPA
exam at first sitting, as well as having received an
award for scoring the highest grade in Florida. He
served on the staff of Price Waterhouse & Co. in
New York and later headed the largest CPA firm in
Tallahassee.
Before becoming a
member of GRTA’s board, he was Treasurer and
Chairman of Finance of North Georgia Metro Water
Board, former Chairman of the Georgia Board of
Education, a former member of the Hospital Steering
Committee in Rabun County, former Vice-Chairman of
Henry County Health Systems, Inc. and former
Chairman of the Florida Land Sales Board and
Condominiums.
Williams serves as
General Chairman of the Chick-fil-A Charity
Championship; and is the past Chairman of Atlanta
Regional Business Coalition. He also is Former
Chairman of the Henry County Chamber of Commerce,
past President of Tallahassee Rotary Club, past
Chairman of Citizens for Better Schools in
Tallahassee; Trustee of Florida State University
Foundation; and former Trustee of Mercer University.
Williams was awarded
the Herman Talmadge Visionary award by the Henry
County Chamber of Commerce. This award recognizes
the person with vision who has contributed the most
to positive growth and economic development in Henry
County.
