GRTA Board Appoints Jim Ritchey Acting Executive DirectorATLANTA - The Board of Directors of the Georgia Regional Transportation Authority (GRTA) appointed Jim Ritchey acting executive director of the authority at a special called meeting today. Ritchey joined GRTA as deputy directory early in 2002 after serving for 11 years as general manager and chief executive officer of the Triangle Transit Authority, which serves Raleigh, Durham and Chapel Hill, North Carolina. In addition to his work at TTA, Ritchey has served as urban program manager with the Public Transportation Division of the North Carolina Department of Transportation and as general manager of Winston-Salem Transit Authority. Ritchey's transportation career began in the private sector working for Duke Power Company in Durham, North Carolina. He holds a Bachelor's degree in history from the University of Virginia and a Master of Management Science degree from North Carolina State University. |
