The
State Employees
Commuter
Assistance Program (SECAP), the benefit program
for state workers seeking transportation
alternatives, has moved to the Georgia Regional
Transportation Authority (GRTA), as of October
1, 2003.
At GRTA, we want to be sure SECAP continues to
be an important service for
our co-workers who
want to escape Atlanta’s traffic gridlock.
One of the key elements of both the
transit passes and vanpool programs is the
Guaranteed Ride Home (GRH) Program.
This program provides free taxi rides (up
to five times per year) for participants who
need to leave work early, in the event of an
emergency or unscheduled overtime.
The program is administered by the
Atlanta Regional Commission under a federal
grant.
So, how do you sign up? Simple. First,
check to be sure your agency is registered as a
GRH-participating agency. The
agency must register as a GRH program
participant before employees can take advantage
of this service.
If it isn’t registered, The Clean Air
Campaign is available to assist your agency with
setting up this service.
It’s a breeze to set up and administer.
To
find out whether or not your agency has
established an internal GRH program, please
contact your human resource director or your
Clean Air Campaign Coordinator on site.
You can contact The Clean Air Campaign
directly at 1-877-CLEANAIR.
Commute
alternatives are important in our efforts to
relieve gridlock and
clean the air.
Taking transit or participating in a
vanpool is a great help.
We want you to have a ride home guaranteed
if you need it for an emergency or unscheduled
overtime. Thank you for your interest and
support as we provide greater mobility, improve
air quality and enhance the quality of life in
all areas of metropolitan Atlanta.
