One of the easiest and most cost-effective alternatives
to solo commuting can be found at the SECAP vanpool
program.
A vanpool is not just a transportation option. It's
a "recovery vehicle" - recover lost personal
time spent behind the wheel and read, listen to
your tunes (or just your thoughts) and/or socialize
with your neighbors and coworkers. Recover lost
dollars that you would have spent on the wear and
tear on your car. Most of all, recover your good
morning attitude by bypassing traffic stress.
Plus, get a tax break by participating
in the federal commuter choice benefits program.
Vanpool fares are eligible as a pretax benefit the
same way as transit passes. Up to $100 a month of
your vanpool fare can be exempt from federal payroll
taxes under FlexTrans, the State of Georgia's pre-tax
