Free
Taxi Rides in case of Emergencies
When
taking Xpress or
GRTA Regional Vanpool, you shouldn’t have to worry about
getting home for an emergency or illness.
Xpress
passengers and GRTA Regional Vanpool participants are eligible
for a free taxi
ride home in case of emergencies (maximum of five in a
12-month period).
1-87-RIDEFIND provides this
Guaranteed Ride Home (GRH) service to commuters who carpool,
vanpool or ride transit and must get home quickly when there
is an emergency.
Eligible
emergencies:
- You
become ill at work and must leave immediately
- Immediate
family medical emergency
- Serious
problem at child’s school or daycare center
- Home
is damaged by fire or burglary
- Carpool/vanpool
driver has an emergency and must leave early without you
- Mandatory
unscheduled overtime
Many
employers have GRH administrators on site to assist you. To
find out about your worksite, either call our Customer Service
Center at (404) 463-4782 or visit http://www.187ridefind.com/grh.html
to find out if your company is enrolled and has an
administrator. If
your company is enrolled and you have an eligible emergency,
simply contact the administrator at your worksite.
If
your company is not enrolled and you have an eligible
emergency, call GRTA’s Customer Service Center at (404) 463-4782 and GRTA staff
will help you enroll, provide you a voucher, set up your
emergency ride home, and
contact your employer to encourage them to register as a
Guaranteed Ride Home Administrator.
